Williston Central School Drama DirectorWilliston Central School is currently seeking a Drama Program Director to work with our enthusiastic and creative middle school students for the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year. Williston Central School has a long tradition of strong musical theater productions. We are also fortunate to have a beautiful auditorium space, the Al Myers Theater, including a large stage with a fully functioning fly system. The Drama Director is responsible for: -Selecting the musical in collaboration with the music director, choreographer, and technical director-Auditioning cast members (up to 60 students in a production)-Developing a rehearsal schedule-Communicating with cast parents and many parent volunteers-Communicating with school personnel, as needed.-Providing creative leadership for staging the production, rehearsing and directing the actors, and approving the production's design, lights and sound, and props and costumes.-Overseeing the program budget: securing appropriate licensing rights, materials for set construction, lights, sound, makeup, promotions, and costumes, including purchasing and rentals.
