The Head of UX Design, Content, and Research will lead our critical user experience capability supporting our digital and other experiences across the firm. This leader will lead a large team across several areas – driving design innovation, simplicity and consistency for clients, and discovery in new areas for the firm. These areas are tremendously important given our mandate to deliver innovative, delightful experiences in a scalable and consistent way. To lead us, this leader must have a passion for design and innovation, creating strong relationships with our internal clients on the digital, business, and technology sides, and be a strong systems thinker in creating the right structures to best manage the team and drive scale. This leader will need to manage complex work and be effective at driving change across the organization.
The Managing Director will work across a wide range of stakeholders to optimize how we manage design, content, and research across our experiences. The MD will support cross-functional partners in leading product design, client experience, development, and risk management. This role will be responsible for articulating the vision for this team, building scalable practices, and innovating to drive optimized experiences. This is an extremely high-profile, cross-enterprise role within Schwab.
The successful MD will create the strategy for this team to create delightful, innovative, and consistent experiences, while driving scale and efficiencies as we support Schwab’s rapid growth. The scope ranges from defining and executing the vision for the overall team, and then partnering closely with digital, business, technology, and risk partners to both deliver the day-to-day work and identify areas of opportunity to further optimize the team and product development processes. This includes, but is not limited to:
A minimum of 15 years of experience in design and digital product leadership roles with demonstrated increasing scope / impact -
Experience providing end-to-end design direction and digital product leadership for technology solutions in the financial services industry.
Exceptional communication, relationship management, and influencing skills -
Experience managing multiple priorities and overseeing distinct teams with varied strengths. Proven ability to navigate complex and nuanced interpersonal issues, balance priorities of different stakeholders, and build trust among business partners. Strong emotional intelligence/maturity and senior level executive presence. Thrives on initiating, building, and cultivating strong authentic relationships inside and outside the group.
Experience driving transformation, change and process improvement through people, process, and technology -
Able to take a broad view of continuous process improvement and operational discipline to identify and maximize what we do and how we do it across the Enterprise.
Leadership -
Able to articulate a complex task or analysis to individuals at all levels of the company. An exceptional manager and motivator of people and teams who can build organizational capacity through a combination of proper organizational structure, hiring, training, and recruiting the best talent available.
Education and Professional Qualifications -
Bachelor's degree required. Post graduate degree is a plus.
12 years’ experience in people management; consistent record of building and inspiring hard-working teams.
Base compensation: $300,000 - $330,000. Your compensation may be different. Speak with your Talent Advisor to learn more. In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
