Would you like to join a new team chartered to build the next generation customer data & analytics platforms? The Customer Data Enablement Team in Data and Rep Technology (DaRT) is looking for a Senior Manager, Data Engineering that will implement a new Customer Data Platform, building a foundation to deliver data driven experiences to Schwab's customers.

Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about learning new and existing technologies and delivering outstanding software solutions. You need to have proven critical thinking skills and a laser focus on pragmatic problem solving. We require a hands-on approach, critical thinking skills, and the ability to partner with people across business and technology organizations. You should have backgrounds in both software engineering and data engineering, along with a strong passion for data integration.

What you are good at

• Mentoring, motivating, and supporting a team of data analysts and data engineers to achieve organizational objectives and goals
• Interacting directly with business and technology stakeholders to define future-state business capabilities & requirements, and translating those into detailed designs
• Delivering and maintaining data services, interfaces, and real-time data pipelines via the practical application of existing and emerging technologies and techniques
• Developing continuous integration and continuous deployment for data pipelines
• Advocating for agile practices to improve delivery quality, consistency, and efficiency
• Ensuring solutions meet published platform principles, guidelines, and standards
• Partnering with platform architects to analyze the current environment, detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement
• Ensuring projects are progressing according to plan by resolving issues or obstacles.
• Building deep understanding of design patterns for Master Data Management, and capabilities

What you have

• 8 years of experience using object-oriented languages (Java, Spring Boot and Spring DI frameworks preferred) to deliver data interfaces on Pivotal Cloud Foundry
• 7 years of experience managing diverse teams with at least 5 direct reports
• 5 years of experience designing, build, and support near real-time data pipelines and analytical solutions with Hadoop, Teradata, MS SQL Server, Informatica, Talend, and/or SSIS
• 5 years of experience integrating and improving Customer data from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Party data sources
• 3 years of experience developing relational, non-relational, and dimensional data models
• 3 years of experience working on agile teams delivering data solutions
• 2 years of experience delivering solutions on public cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred)
• 2 years of experience writing automated unit and integration tests for data interfaces & data pipelines
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies, and identify the most appropriate use for them
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, including teamwork, communication, and negotiation
