Summary:
The Director of Corporate Accounting has responsibility for providing accounting expertise and leadership to the day-to-day management of the corporate accounting team. Primary responsibilities include managing the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing; internal management reporting; account controls including account reconciliation; and supervising accounts payable and payroll accounting functions. Role will work closely with the various functional leaders in the business.
This person will have extensive knowledge of the accounting finance functions as well as business processes and information flow, with a proven capability to communicate and collaborate with diverse functions in the company including operations, IT, HR, sales/marketing, finance, and executive leadership. This person must be a self-starter with a can-do attitude who can work independently, be entrepreneurial; is excited by new opportunities, have a hands-on style; ability to work at multiple levels in the organizations accounting/finance function and be comfortable in difficult situations. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, technically proficient, operationally and business savvy, a strategic and independent thinker, and a confident financial management leader. This person will supervise and manage a team and will report directly to the Corporate Controller.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage period-end accounting close process ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
- Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities.
- Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
- Direct the preparation and distribution of monthly internal financial reports.
- Coordinates with FP&A department to research variances in monthly accounts.
- Maintains general ledger application security and data.
- Develops and monitors the operation of an effective control environment on assigned accounts and tasks.
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.
- Effectively manages and executes on additional special projects, as required.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University in Accounting.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills necessary.
- 2 years public accounting experience as an auditor preferred.
- CPA required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to interpret and apply technical accounting and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
- Strong leadership, change management and communication skills.

Compensation:
$145,000.00-$155,000.00
