• We are hiring immediately for a CAFE MANAGER position.
• Location: Cranbrook Educational Community; 39221 Woodward Ave. Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule with early evenings & weekends occasionally.
• Details: The cafe manager is responsible for overseeing both of the retail cafes on campus with six direct reports ranging from two cafe leads and four baristas. The cafe leads manage the day-to-day ordering and operations, baristas support across both cafes as they are open seven days a week between the two of them. This role keeps the focus on standards, rules, and expectations. Driving innovation in the cafes, running specials, as well as maintaining mandated items such as safety, sanitation, scheduling, staffing, and client relations. Will drive special events and programs within the cafes, expanding revenue streams and working with the team at Cranbrook to develop and implement each of the above.
• Requirement: Food service management/supervisory experience. Will train! The ideal candidate has experience with lean leadership, talent management, inventory and cost control, retail trend awareness, & customer service.

Job Summary
This individual will be responsible for the supervision of the food service operation, ensuring the standards of excellence are met. They will supervise associates and support financial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:

• Hires, supervises, trains, and coaches associates.
• Plans, markets and executes special events/promotions in the cafe
• Ensures compliance with proper sanitation and cleaning standards
• Operates within the budget and identifies new ways to improve the business
• Manages cafe operations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 1-3 years of relevant experience
• Operational knowledge of cash handling procedures and food service equipment
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• ServSafe or Department of Health certification
