Job Description:
- Create and maintain technical documentation processes, inventory and templates adhering to company style and branding guidelines.
- Maintain a comprehensive library of documentation.
- Learn, communicate, and adhere to using technical international system of units within all documentation.
- Test new product instruments ensuring documents accurately reflect a device’s functions and features.
- Produce and update user manuals, quick start guides, software help systems, production assembly instructions and other technical documents of our electrical test and measurement instruments with accuracy, a high level of attention to details and in an easy-to-understand tone.
- Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, QA, Technical and Customer support teams to ensure quality and accuracy of content.
- Research and write content for articles working closely with various departments to understand topics and technical aspects of AEMC instruments and/or topics of interest in applicable industry segments.
- Support and adhere to the change request process and communication efforts within the Marketing department.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization and the ability to adapt to changes as necessary.
Education:
- Associate degree in technical studies or English writing discipline
- 2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer
Experience:
- Technical writing experience in the electronics industry preferred.
- Proficient in InDesign and/or MS Word and experience in Microsoft WinHelp (.hlp) or similar technology.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
- The ability to write clearly, concisely, accurately, and timely.
- Excellent English language verbal, written and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and high regard for quality and consistency.
- The ability to quickly learn new processes and software tools.
- Knowledge of technical writing style guides and best practices.
- Ability to edit graphics and illustrations for documents is a plus.
- Ability to understand technical concepts with ease.
