Busy general law practice (family law, criminal law, and civil litigation) in Calaveras County is looking for a full-time experienced family law paralegal.
Ideal candidate is:
· Experienced with computers (Microsoft Office, Excel, Essential Forms, Lexis Nexis, typing, and general internet)
· Detailed orientated
· Professional and independent
· Good with clients
· Organized and self-motivated
· Ability to perform in a high volume, fast paced environment, with many deadlines.
Typical Duties:
- Confers with clients regarding case status.
- Prepares correspondence and reports; conducts special studies and research as directed.
- Prepares a variety of legal documents including subpoenas, motions, declarations, responsive pleadings, points and authorities, declarations of disclosure, discovery responses, etc.
- Studies, researches, and interprets laws, court decisions and other legal authorities for use in the preparation of cases, opinions, and briefs; assists in case analysis.
- Briefs witnesses for trial, gathers and prepares exhibits and evidence for trial; assists attorney in preparation for court.
- Summarizes depositions, interrogatories, evidence, and other pertinent case files.
- Confers with investigators regarding evidence and facts; may participate in investigations, interviews clients, witnesses, and others regarding specific civil or criminal cases.
- Manages Attorney’s calendar.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
