Chayote Barrio Kitchen is looking for a friendly and organized Host with knowledge of Resy to join our team. As a Host, you are the first point of contact, will provide a warm welcome and manage the seating process for all guests. Your exceptional customer service skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Resy will contribute to creating a positive and efficient dining experience.

The ideal start date for this position will be October of 2023 and will be in Winter Park, Florida.

Essential duties:

Guest Reception and Seating:

· Welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanor, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment they arrive.

· Manage the reservation system, utilizing Resy, to check-in guests, confirm reservations, and efficiently seat parties according to their preferences and table availability.

· Maintain accurate waitlists and inform guests of approximate wait times, ensuring effective communication and managing guest expectations.

Reservation Management:

· Coordinate with the serving staff and kitchen to optimize table turnover, efficient seating and minimal wait times for guests.

· Assist in managing special requests, such as accommodating large parties, special occasions, or specific seating preferences.

· Communicate with guests to confirm or modify reservations, responding promptly and courteously to any inquiries or changes.

Guest Relations:

· Provide exceptional customer service by attending to guest needs and addressing inquiries to ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.

· Manage guest flow, effectively balancing seating priorities, and optimizing table utilization based on reservation schedules and walk-in traffic.

· Resolve guest complaints or issues with a professional and service-oriented approach, escalating to management when necessary.

Communication and Coordination:

· Maintain clear and consistent communication with the serving staff, kitchen team, and management regarding table availability, special requests, and any guest-related concerns.

· Collaborate with servers to ensure accurate seating assignments and timely table turnovers, maintaining effective communication and teamwork.

· Relay important information to guests, such as daily specials, promotions, or waitlist updates, in a clear and friendly manner.

Administrative Tasks:

· Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the Resy system, including reservation details, guest preferences, and notes for future reference.

· Generate reports and gather data from Resy to assist in analyzing guest patterns, reservation trends, and optimizing seating efficiency.

· Support general administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, taking messages, and responding to emails or inquiries.

Qualifications:

· Previous experience as a Host or in a similar guest service role within the restaurant industry.

· Proficiency in using Resy or other reservation management systems is required.

· Strong customer service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.

· Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments efficiently.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and remain calm under pressure.

· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the restaurant's operating hours.

· Knowledge of restaurant operations and familiarity with menu offerings and seating capacities is a plus.

This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Restaurant’s General Manager. Join our team and contribute to creating a seamless and exceptional dining experience for our guests.

$15 per hour Tips
