Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Catering Crew Member to join our team. The Catering Crew Member will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of various events, including weddings, corporate gatherings, parties, and other special occasions. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, the ability to provide exceptional service to our guests, and a friendly smile.
Responsibilities:
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and decorations as needed per event.
- Greet guests as they arrive when coming through a buffet line.
- Serve food buffets/ plated meals promptly and professionally, ensuring presentation and quality meet the highest standards.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests and special requirements, providing a personalized and attentive service experience.
- Clear tables and banquet areas efficiently, ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of the venue for the next event.
- Collaborate with the DJs and bar staff to ensure a seamless flow of service before food service and throughout the event while we are on site.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with guests, colleagues, and event organizers.
- Handle guest concerns or complaints in a diplomatic and timely manner, escalating issues as necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies to ensure the well-being of guests and staff during events.
- Assist with event breakdown and cleanup, including organizing equipment and returning it to its designated storage area .when at the catering kitchen.
- Collaborate with fellow Catering Crew Members and other staff members to create a positive and efficient team environment.
Qualifications:
- Must have or obtain food handler's permit for Lancaster county.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Drivers License. (team leads will drive or working a solo event, will need to drive a company catering vehicle)
- Previous experience in banquet or catering service preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain composed and professional under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and carry items throughout the event. Need to be able to lift 75 pounds, solo, to or from vehicle to cart.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends as required by event schedules.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a must!
