What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Operator position at Chemence, Inc.?
Summary:
The Production Operator is primarily responsible for the setup of packaging equipment on production floor and packing of various products through a variety of process (e.g., manual packing, filling boxes, casing finished goods and the operations of various types of equipment). Responsible for general housekeeping of workstation and keeping equipment clean.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in production activities including but not limited to manual assembly and packing of various products, visual inspection of materials and components.
- Boxing and casing final products and operating various types of equipment.
- Perform assigned tasks as outlines in procedures ensuring quality of the product.
- Maintain in depth familiarity with workmanship standards and other required documents.
- Reports discrepancies to supervisory personnel in a timely manner.
- Promotes a positive work environment.
- Notifies Team Lead or Production Supervisor of any inventory needs/requests.
- Communicates with Team Lead or Production Supervisor if any unforeseen conflicts to the production schedules arise.
- Ensure and maintains workstations are kept safe and free of clutter.
- Communicates with Team Lead or Production Supervisor any issues with the equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have a positive attitude and possess the ability to multitask and work well with others. Ability to organize and keep production tools and equipment in good working order.
- Previous applicable work experience a plus. Warehouse, assembly, or previous production roles.
Language Skills:
- English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Physical Demands:
- Position requires walking, standing for prolonged periods, occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- May frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Non-temperature-controlled warehouse, Non-temperature-controlled production floor, temperature-controlled office.
