This position will report directly to the Lab Maintenance Supervisor. Location: Newark, Delaware Hours: Part-time schedule up to 20 hours per week Term: 3-6-month assignment between May-September The Battery Lab Apprentice under the guidance of an experienced colleague will be received specialized on the job training. This role involves tasks such as adhering to workplace procedures, following health and safety guidance, and completing tasks related to basic chemistry laboratory work. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Develop and execute experiments safely and under close guidance of lab personnel. Collect organize and record necessary experimental data. Interface with research investigators to set objectives. Work with the team to develop and execute experiments to make powder mixtures. Prepare samples and measure tensile properties of films. The following is required for this role: Enrollment at New Castle County Vo-Tech School District at time of assignment High school student enrolled in Chemistry Lab Technology program Good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work well and receive feedback from others Demonstrated proper safety procedure while performing laboratory operations Be able to interpret, analyze and interpret facts and ideas in writing.
