Mining Coordinator Chemours is seeking a Mining Coordinator to join our growing Mission Mine operations team! This position will report directly to the Mine Manager in our Nahunta, GA location. JOB SUMMARY Responsible for coordinating the safe and efficient implementation of agreed surface mining plans while minimizing cost and maximizing throughput rates and production uptime. Role will develop a team of 10 day-shift equipment and field service operators responsible for timber/land clearing, stripping topsoil, sand slurry tails management, daily infrastructure moves (pipes, pumps, and power cables), and final grading and land reclamation required to sustain active mining operations. Position will coordinate with mine planning, maintenance and production shift supervisors/operators to ensure production targets are met for 24/7 mining operations. Role will also liaise with heavy equipment suppliers and mechanics as needed to ensure operational needs are met. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Ensure all work is performed within company, state, and federal regulations, standards, statutes, policies, and procedures. Identify and promote opportunities to improve mine safety performance, act as a safety leader. Coordinate all earth moving activities from land clearing, to mining, to final reclamation and closure. Monitor daily reports tracking feed grade, throughput capacity, product output and recovery and engage operations to discuss, understand, and communicate impact of mining related issues. Coordinate with production teams and offer mining and earth moving expertise and support to ensure consistent ore feed to plant processing at peek throughput capacities. Offer guidance and support to operational personnel to further develop in-house technical expertise. Coordinate and assist Mine Planning Engineers, as required, with both short term and long-term mine plans Act as a Safety Leader to ensure individual and team Safety remain top priority in the planning and execution of all tasks. Work closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel targeting zero incidents and continuous improvement of mine site EHS performance. Continuous improvement in mining approach, encourage initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase production volume and reduce operating cost. Increase and improve operator training to improve process management for 24/7 operations. Work in a self-guided manner in the absence of supervision and demonstrate creativity, exercise sound judgment, and demonstrate initiative. Report all personal injuries and EHS incidents and assist with both safety and environmental investigations. Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in all assigned areas. Participate in the weekly meetings and be prepared to report on mining and earth moving progress and performance to include action items and follow up from meeting discussions. Perform cost/benefit analysis of process improvement opportunities in your area. Maintain and improve existing Standard Operating Platform (SOP) in support of operational consistency. Work with operational team to make sure they are trained with any changes in operation. In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution 5-yrs mining/earth moving and team management experience OR B.S. in Mine Engineering or related field 2-yrs experience The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit: Thorough knowledge of company safety and environmental policies and procedures. Excellent verbal and written skills as well as people management skills, ability to motivate and train. Good mathematical and computer skills and willingness to learn new systems and software (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to achieve maximum efficiency and productivity. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, peers, and operators; able to take a "hands-on" approach with operators to facilitate change and get results.
