General description
The Buyer will be responsible for the placing of PO’s directly with our supply base and ensuring order fulfillment. This individual will work closely with Corporate Services, Procurement, and the Accounting team to make vital contributions to the departmental direct/indirect savings goals while supporting Policy Deployment objectives.
Essential functions & responsibilities
Process daily orders as received from Corporate Services
Ensuring order fulfillment to improve on-time shipment, while communicating shortfalls
Facilitate meetings to review vendor performance while upholding them to ChemTreat standards
Efficiently resolve vendor discrepancies (price, quality, delays, safety, etc.) while working with suppliers to drive to root cause and implementing corrective actions where needed
Drive continuous improvement through daily reporting of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Identify and lead continuous improvement activities using multiple tools (Problem Solving Process, Kaizen, etc.)
Manage Blanket PO’s from issuance to renewal/deposition
Maintain shared departmental standard work documents

1-2 years of purchasing; 3-5 years preferred
ISM C.P.M or CPSM certification preferred
