About the role:
As a Senior Researcher, you'll be at the forefront of pioneering advancements in water research and development. Dive into the fascinating realms of chemistry and microbiology as you explore innovative solutions for cooling, boiler, and process-side water treatment. Your primary focus will be on scale inhibition, corrosion control, and microbiological management, utilizing your expertise to innovate, develop, and rigorously test chemical treatments.
Day in and day out, you'll be immersed in running experiments, providing invaluable support, and generating informative insights. Your extensive experience in conducting standard lab experiments will be key to your success in this role. Moreover, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your findings at conferences and engage directly with customers, driving forward our mission of sustainable water management.
The position is part of our team of Researchers located in Ashland, VA and will be onsite in our laboratory.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $110.000 - $120.000 USD per year.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.

In this role, you will:
- Lead and carry out complex cross-functional projects tied to strategic product development as well as basic research focusing on corrosion and scale control applications for industrial water treatment.
- Ensure product lines reflect leading-edge technology and identify product line gaps and opportunities for product sales margin expansion.
- Visit customers to troubleshoot processes and influence process changes to optimize operational resources.
- Write customer-facing reports and present technical data to customers.
- Contribute to intellectual property planning, patents, and technical papers at conferences etc.
- B.S. degree in chemistry or related field with over 10 years of experience in water treatment or a higher degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Experience in water treatment related to scale inhibition, corrosion inhibition, microbiological control, or related applications preferred.
- Experience training less experienced lab personnel
- Advanced familiarity with common laboratory instruments, equipment, and techniques
