Summary:
The Construction Manager will support the AFCEC's mission by performing a broad range technical review and advisory/assistance for AFCEC design and construction projects at across the Air Force.
The Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) is responsible for providing responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services. AFCEC’s missions include facility investment planning, design and construction, operations support, real property management, energy support, environmental compliance and restoration, and audit assertions, acquisition, and program management. The unit conducts its operations at more than 75 locations worldwide.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
- Provides a responsive, flexible full-spectrum installation engineering services
- Performs a broad range technical review and advisory/assistance for AFCEC design and construction projects across the Air Force
- Performs project status updates, assessments, evaluations, analysis, reports, presentations, management-level project cost and schedules reviews, and other products for use in support of assigned enterprise design agent/construction agent (DA/CA) program workload that consist of Military Construction (MILCON) and Facility Sustainment Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) services
- Prepares and reviews of statements of work, cost estimates, submittals, and request for information
- Participates in virtual and on-site design, contract acquisition and construction meetings and on-site inspections as required
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
- No supervisory or management authority.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or closely related field is required; with a minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last 10 years with Air Force or Department of Defense (DoD) facility and infrastructure military construction project management execution. Eleven (11) years of construction industry experience within the last 15 years may be considered as a substitution for a bachelor’s degree
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of DoD design and construction policies and standards.
- Working knowledge of military construction and renovation projects.
- Excellent critical thinking, multi-tasking, and communication skills; both oral and written.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must have a valid US passport.
- Travel as needed may occur CONUS and OCONUS.
- Experience providing oversight of A/E design and construction.
- Utilizing and applying computer software including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Autodesk AutoCAD 2013, etc.
- Read and understand CAD drawings, old blueprints, and facility/project specifications.
- Must successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office setting. Some travel may be required. Candidate must reside in the local San Antonio, Texas area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
