Logistics and Purchasing Officer
This position requires an active TS/Sensitive Compartmental Information (SCI) clearance.
The Logistics and Purchasing Officer coordinates and manages the procurement of goods and services, as well as the efficient distribution and transportation of products within an organization.

Logistics and Purchasing Officer Responsibilities Include:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers for acceptable US Government Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) electronic and support equipment.
- Arrange for safe and secure transportation of purchased goods.
- Identify and develop strategies of addressing logistical barriers.
- Monitor use of materials and resources.
- Ensure quality record keeping.
- Negotiate with approved suppliers regarding price, lead time, ordering quantities, shipping terms, and delivery expectations to achieve ongoing cost containment and improvement.
- Working with client logistics and other program personnel, maintain an accurate accountable property inventory and reconcile discrepancies.
- Monitor and expedite materials and services captured on internal system database to ensure promised delivery dates are fulfilled and communicate delivery notification or lead-time changes to requestors.
- Process requisitions for approvals and place requirements with prospective suppliers (to include client logistics team in certain scenarios, using their internal acquisitions database). Request quotes from vendors based on technical requirements.
- Track material requisitions and consumable orders through material tracking log.
- Investigate and resolve issues affecting timely ordering of requirements.
- Assist with purchasing of materials and services within area of assignment to include: ordering of materials through a variety of internal and external sources; validating customer requirements against US Government Supply Chain Risk Management and Mitigation Processes and Procedure Regulations and Cost Estimates.
- Act as a liaison and manage relationships with corresponding Government entities.
- Assists program with status reports, white papers, weekly activity report, and other ad hoc requirements as necessary.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Logistics and Purchasing Officer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting Network Operations within the Intelligence Community and Cyber Security Providers.
- Experience in Supply Chain Risk Management.
- Knowledge of DoD Networks and orders process.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
