SERVICE TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT
Location: Easton, MD
Entry level position, no experience needed. Will assist in the installation and maintenance of gas services, appliances and related equipment in accordance with applicable codes. Make installations of gas services and appliances in accordance with applicable codes and affect related service repairs on gas appliances and equipment. Training and cross training is provided.
What you'll be working on:
- Assists with and/or may work without supervision in all aspects of the Service Department including but not limited to the following:
- The installation of gas service and propane tanks
- Properly size and install gas lines as necessary.
- Install appliances.
- Make necessary connections to appliances according to code.
- Perform gas check and prepare proper documentation.
- Perform pressure tests and document.
- Perform repairs on appliances and equipment.
- Diagnose appliance and equipment malfunctions.
- Perform necessary repairs to company owned equipment such as tanks,meters and more.
- Complete work orders properly documenting materials used and time expended.
- Read meters.
- Record inventory.
- Collection or disconnection of delinquent accounts.
- Verify customer address and equipment serial numbers.
- Reconnect gas service and re-light appliances as required.
- Perform tank movement and equipment maintenance including visual inspection
- Scrape and paint tanks, piping and meters as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.
Who you are:
- You are a High school graduate or equivalent.
- You have mechanical aptitude. General knowledge of motor vehicles, various other power equipment, testing equipment and various other hand tools. Ability to take direction.
- You have A RESPONSIBLE DRIVING RECORD
- You're a great communicator, keeping customers, co workers and Management informed
- You have the ability and desire to obtain a minimum of Class B CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- You're okay with working outside in a construction setting or on a customers’ location with minimal office time, around potentially hazardous/flammable substances and large equipment, and in all outside weather conditions.
