Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Marine Service Manager to lead our service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the service department, including scheduling, customer relations, staff management, and ensuring the highest level of service quality. This role requires a deep understanding of marine systems, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the marine service department, ensuring that all service activities are performed efficiently and to the highest standards.
- Lead and supervise a team of marine technicians and support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Develop and implement service processes and procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Schedule and coordinate service work, ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget.
- Work closely with customers to understand their service needs, provide estimates, and ensure clear communication throughout the service process.
- Monitor and maintain service department profitability by managing costs, maximizing labor efficiency, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, fostering a safe and productive work environment.
- Oversee the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of various marine systems, including engines, electrical systems, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Handle customer complaints and issues, working to resolve them promptly and to the satisfaction of the customer.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve the service department’s capabilities.
- Prepare and analyze reports on service department performance, including productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in marine service management or a similar role within the marine industry.
- Extensive knowledge of marine systems, including engines, electrical systems, propulsion systems, and related equipment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Proficient in using service management software and other relevant tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in marine mechanics or engineering are preferred.
