Chevo is hiring a Data Management Analyst to join our expanding firm. The position provides the opportunity for significant client interaction, learning the client’s business, and becoming their trusted advisor. Ideal candidates will have a working knowledge of enterprise data management and governance, federal data strategy, and other federal CDO-related mandates. Having experience developing, deploying, and maintaining data policies and procedures. Location is within Washington, DC and is Metro-accessible.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and deploy data access policies and procedures.
- Support Data Architecture and Data Governance Processes
- Support tasks related to Data Maturity (DM) Assessment refresh and Data Classification
- Monitor log submissions and assist with issues
- Monitor and support the Data Governance mailbox
- Attend and provide documentation (agenda and minutes) for OCDO, DMB, Data Architecture and Data Governance partnerships and various working group meetings
- Support integration of data access policies and procedures into overall enterprise data management and governance strategy.
- Ensure policy and procedure conformity with applicable standards, regulations, and best practices
- Plans, organizes, and performs activities to accomplish the stated tasks or goals.
- Facilitate the development of data access violation mitigation/response plans.
- Support ongoing data access and security audits, as well as gap and risk assessments and analyses.
- Develop and implement data classification strategies and plans.
- Review changes to data systems to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
- Support the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO) in the planning and development of data strategies aligned to Federal Data Strategy and other federal CDO-related mandates; and identification and prioritization of OCDO projects.
- Support the progress and activities of the Data Management governance bodies (DMB and DMWG) with clear agendas, prepare meeting materials to support effective decision making, documentation, communications, and providing project support to owners/teams, driving key outputs, and tracking milestones.
- Support successful implementation of the SEC’s Data Management Roadmap providing project support to track and coordinate the initiatives and activities on the SEC’s Data Management Roadmap.
- Facilitate enterprise-wide information sharing, coordination and collaboration on data management and analytics topics including maintaining the content of a document /information repository with information on the overall Data Management Program and specific initiatives, and support communications to establish and grow the data and analytics communities at the SEC.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree, preferably in a computer- or technology-related discipline.
- Experience supporting Data Architecture and/or Data Governance groups
- Experience with Knowledge Management repositories, Confluence, and SharePoint
- Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal Access Requests (Information Services)
- 5 years of practical information/data management experience.
- Up to date, working knowledge of industry data management/ governance trends and developments, as well as applicable government regulations (e.g., NIST, FIPS).
- Experience gathering requirements and capturing user stories.
- Familiarity with business analyses, including gap analysis, process mapping, root-cause analysis, and risk analysis.
- Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent judgment and self-motivation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Project management experience, with a preference for familiarity with both traditional (predictive, waterfall), agile methodologies, cloud computing and cloud storage solutions.
- Programming experience or knowledge.
- Facility communicating with and managing stakeholders across all organizational levels.
