GENERAL SUMMARY: Support the region in the outbound and in-branch activities that create brand awareness and develop new membership opportunities. Identify membership, sales, service, or lending needs and provide information and assistance in meeting them. Accurately perform branch functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support and assist in the coordination of business development events throughout the region by, scheduling events, attending events and engaging attendees in order to cultivate new memberships and/or solicit products to existing members, assisting in event set-up and tear-down, conducting educational presentations when appropriate and delivering presentations to a diverse range of audiences on financial literacy topics.
  • Proactively identify member needs by reviewing account data, effectively conduct a needs assessment to understand member’s current financial goals, and make recommendations of the Credit Union’s products and services.
  • Process membership applications.
  • Interview loan applicants to obtain personal and financial data. Review loan applications for completeness. Assist in the loan funding process by following Consumer Lending procedures.
  • Perform general and vault teller functions such as: receiving checks and cash for deposits; examining checks for endorsements; accepting and processing loan payments; cashing checks; processing withdrawals; and balancing currency, coin, and checks. Identify possible fraud to protect both the Credit Union and the member.
  • Assist with key business development strategies/initiatives; edit/polish presentation materials; provide input on process/strategy improvements.
  • Assist in managing the branch within authorized authority, and in accordance with practices as set out in policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Three to five years’ related financial services branch or sales experience required (both preferred).
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated qualifications.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to deliver effective presentations and facilitate meetings for a diverse range of audiences on financial literacy topics.
  • Ability to write effectively in English using correct spelling and grammar.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both current and prospective members.
  • Initiative and self-direction.
  • Ability to work effectively with others as required by the position.
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making ability, including the ability to prioritize.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have access to a vehicle, a clean driving record, and the ability to travel to a variety of sites within the region.
  • Must be willing and able to work at any branch or office location within his or her region.

  • Work involves extensive use of computers, up to eight hours per day. Appropriate visual and dexterity abilities are required.
  • Work involves setting up and tearing down displays and other physical activities involved in business development events. May include pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects.
