Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
Responsible for working with all end users on the purchasing of products to place orders and ensure contractual and standardization goals are met. Researches any discrepancies due to receipts and/or pricing. Verifies and tries to find alternative products if the vendor or manufacturers have a back order.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processes special requisitions
- Ensures all orders placed are compliant with appropriate local or national contracts and are consistent with product standardization and value analysis decisions
- Researches problems with back orders and substitute items when manufacturers and/or distributors are out of product
- Coordinates returns to vendors
- Handles hospital procedures for recalled products
- Clears on-hold invoices and returns to Finance
- Distributes product information to department heads and maintains updated reference and quote files, catalogs, etc
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field
Required Minimum Experience
A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience and responsibilities in purchasing
