IT Security Analyst/Cloud Security Analyst Opportunity
Information Security Analysts is the backbone of security in our university. They take care of planning and carrying out security features to protect the Universities’ computer networks and systems. Security analysts assess, plan, and enact security measures to help protect our organization from security breaches and attacks on our computer networks and systems. This job involves simulating attacks to identify vulnerabilities, testing new software to help protect the Universities’ data, and helping users adhere to new regulations and processes to ensure the network stays safe..

Job Description
  • Develop and manage information security controls for all functional areas across the enterprise.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the corporate risk management program.
  • Participate in the analysis, remediation, and mitigation of security incidents.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and controls (e.g., user log-on and authentication rules, security breach escalation procedures, security auditing procedures and use of firewalls and encryption routines) and investigate possible security exceptions.
  • Prepare status reports on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.
  • Evaluate products and procedures to enhance security and improve end user productivity and effectiveness.
  • Provide direct support to the business and IT staff for security related issues. Educate IT and the business about security policies and consults on security issues regarding user built/managed systems.

  • Plan and carryout security measures
  • Represent the security needs of the organization by providing security expertise and assistance in IT projects.
  • Assist in the development of organization wide best practices for IT security
  • Provide educational resources about security policies and consult on security issues regarding user built or managed systems.
  • Serve as the main point of contact regarding security for Information Technology initiatives.
  • Mentor entry level security team members by providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in computer science or information security.
  • Minimum two years of professional experience in information technology specifically in IT Security and cloud management.




Preferred Qualifications
  • Clear understanding in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Previous experience or certification in cloud platforms.
  • Deep understanding of IT Security, Risk Assessment & Management, Vulnerabilities

1. Excellent oral and written communications skills

2. Knowledge of the systems and operations used within the areas and departments of responsibility

3. Ability to oversee and coordinate activities of user groups

4. Ability to effectively communicate with other colleagues, supervisors, administrative staff, and other IT users

5. Ability to identify and resolve technical problems

6. Ability to effectively communicate and professionally interact with all staff levels
