Position Description
The Irondequoit Chick-fil-A Kitchen Director will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the kitchen and back of house (BOH) operations. The director will be responsible for ensuring that all Chick-fil-A guests receive great food with fast and accurate service in a clean and safe environment. The Kitchen Director, as a member of the Irondequoit CFA leadership team, will ensure that the restaurant pursues its vision to care for our community and provide opportunities through great food, passionate people, and service for others.
Responsibilities
- Lead your team
- Develop and guide the members of the back of house (BOH) team through weekly meetings and training sessions to help them successfully reach the goals on their scorecard
- Schedule time each week to go over the BOH reports with your team and plan on improvements in each focus area
- Equip your team
- Communicate with the scheduler to ensure that you have the appropriate amount of people scheduled and the right people scheduled to excel at operations
- Develop BOH systems (checklist, procedures, etc.) so that all team members are trained and can consistently deliver on expectations
- Develop your team
- Develop BOH Managers and Team Leaders in both their leadership and business skills so that these leaders can effectively lead the business in your absence
- Ensure corrective action is taken and the discipline support system is consistently implemented in a positive manner when needed for BOH team members
- Develop onboarding and training plans for all BOH team members to ensure they are trained and supported from day one to fulfill their responsibilities
- Lead the business
- Participate as a member of the Irondequoit Chick-fil-A leadership team ensuring a consistent culture of excellence and care in the restaurant and collaborating on restaurant-wide initiatives
- Supervise opening or closing of the restaurant (as assigned)
- Execute position responsibilities
- Address all food safety concerns immediately with your BOH team
- Ensure Irondequoit CFA meets or exceeds food waste benchmarks and BOH team is using correct LEAN systems
- Oversee all inventory management including ordering, transfers, and end-of-month inventory
- Ensure kitchen is always clean and organized (Back Stage Tour ready) and that all kitchen repairs and maintenance are addressed
- Ensure all team members have appropriate uniform to wear on the first day of work

- Can effectively hold team members accountable through consistent check-ins and conversations
- Has experience in the food service industry that you can draw on to build the culture of the Irondequoit CFA
- Can multitask while working at a quick, efficient and thorough pace

- Food Waste Gap

- Customer Experience Monitor: Top 20% Quarterly in each individual temp/taste category, as well as speed of service, portion size, taste, and order accuracy

REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 16 years old
- Previous customer service and/ or kitchen experience preferred
- Previous leadership experience preferred
