The New Verticals Team’s mission is to extend the power of Chief to our biggest and most impactful opportunities. We work to research, design, innovate, build, and launch products and services that further our mission of changing the face of leadership.
About the Role:
Chief is seeking a marketing leader to build the marketing function for a new vertical currently in incubation. You will combine your strategic, brand, and growth marketing expertise to set the go-to-market strategy and deliver a thoughtful communications experience that attracts, acquires, engages and retains members. The ideal candidate is thoughtful about driving magical moments throughout the members’ lifecycle — from learning about the brand, to applying, to onboarding into the community, to engaging with services and content. This role will report directly to the GM, New Verticals and partner with Chief’s Marketing and Communications team.
What you’ll do:
- Define a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports our new vertical’s business objectives and the needs of women in the workplace
- Create and lead the go-to-market strategy and spearhead the launch of the new vertical to market
- Stand up, develop, launch, and report on the full member communications journey, from attraction and acquisition through annual renewal
- Determine the format, content, and schedule for ongoing member comms, including any member newsletters
- Build acquisition cadences and processes in partnership with with Director of Membership
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as product, programming, and leadership development teams to produce a cohesive communication and experience journey
- Deeply understand member qualifications and personas, accurately identify these segments for list creation and specific communication touches
- Deploy a marketing budget across channel that you identify and allocate based on growth strategy
- Own conversion and engagement metrics and improvements throughout the funnel (i.e. # of leads, open rate)
- Track, report, analyze, and optimize campaigns for key performance metrics
- Manage external agencies, evaluate their performance, and create RFP for any new agencies or external partners relationships
What you’ve done and enjoy doing:
- Strategic marketing generalist with a demonstrated track record of improving customer engagement, acquisition, and retention throughout the funnel
- Experience acquiring customers at a consumer start-up that has scaled quickly, ideally a consumer brand that has won the hearts of customers
- Experience managing and deploying a meaningful budget across marketing channels and initiatives
- A portfolio of growth marketing campaigns that demonstrate an ability to think strategically about growth while delivering measurable results
- Experience effectively managing an agency to develop and execute campaigns
- Demonstrated empathy for customers through exceptional storytelling
- Thirst for consumer insights and a track record of using insights to delight members and improve their experience
- An entrepreneurial, scrappy spirit – you love to drive growth: designing, innovating and building for potential and existing customers
- Ability to build and maintain effective cross functional and partner relationships
- Highly organized, able to effectively prioritize in a fast-paced startup environment
- Experience in a membership business a plus
- Interest in Chief’s mission of changing the face of leadership
