Service Area: Nutrition
Nature of Work
Performs tasks associated with food service to classrooms. Assists and cooperates in a supportive role with relieving full day teaching staff for breaks. Adheres to sanitation requirements in regards to food service, classrooms, and sites. Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with other staff and children. Interacts in a developmentally appropriate fashion with children. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with others.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED. Prefer experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Works according to a schedule determined by their manager.
- Assists as needed in food preparation as prescribed by the daily menu.
- Prepares and takes dish tubs to all classrooms for all meals.
- Sees that assigned classrooms have sufficient food for additional servings.
- Retrieves dish tubs from all classrooms and returns to kitchen for washing.
- Cleans and sanitizes tables before and after food service for assigned classrooms.
- Cleans assigned classes after meal service as needed.
- Works in full day classrooms on an assigned basis to provide breaks for full day staff.
- Accepts and performs other duties as assigned.
- May be required to substitute in assigned classroom/s in the event of teaching staff absences.

- Able to lift up to 45 pounds on a daily basis
- Able to kneel, stoop, bend, twist, push, pull, crawl, sit, and
go up and down stairs daily.
- Able to perform duties in an active environment.
- Able to operate office equipment as applicable.
- Ability to see and hear (with or without assistance).
- Ability to read, write, and count.
