Position Overview
The Volunteer/Mentor Manager is integral to CPNYC, leading the charge in the recruitment, engagement, and management of our mentoring and volunteer initiatives under Project D.R.E.A.M. Reporting to the Director of Advancement and Communications, this role embodies the mission of CPNYC, facilitating impactful community relationships and enhancing our support network. With a significant portion of time dedicated to evolving mentors and volunteers into active donors and collaborators, this role is pivotal in strengthening CPNYC’s community footprint.
Essential Job Functions
- Outreach & Recruitment: Spearhead community engagement efforts to build sustainable relationships and recruit volunteers and mentors, focusing on the Metropolitan area's educational and organizational sectors.
- Program Management: Oversee volunteer and mentor program logistics, including orientations, trainings, and event coordination, ensuring a seamless operation and impactful volunteer experiences.
- Policy Development: Craft and refine volunteer policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring a high-quality volunteer program aligned with CPNYC’s goals and values.
- Evaluation & Reporting: Conduct thorough evaluations of volunteer and mentor programs, maintaining meticulous records and utilizing data to inform strategic decisions and report on progress.
- Cultivation & Engagement: Develop strategies to deepen volunteer and mentor engagement, leveraging opportunities for corporate partnerships and donor integration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred in Education, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, or a related field. A global perspective, marked by cross-cultural experiences, is advantageous.
- Experience: At least three years of leadership experience in volunteer or mentor program management.
- Skills: Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, proficiency in CRM databases (Salesforce preferred), and a strong track record in customer service and organizational management.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, flexible, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Diplomacy and confidentiality are crucial in dealings with all community stakeholders.
- Language: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
COMPENSATION:
The salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 per annum, reflective of experience and qualifications.
