Assessment Psychologist

SUMMARY

Uses independent judgment and discretion to provide individual, child, family and group therapy; counseling; crisis intervention; and advocacy services to children and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Uses independent judgment and discretion to gather information, assess needs and provide appropriate direct clinical and related therapeutic services, emphasizing evidence-based practices (EBPs), to clients and/or their families.
2. Uses independent judgment and discretion to provide ongoing clinical assessment and treatment planning for assigned clients.
3. Meets and/or exceeds client service delivery goals.
4. Participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
5. Provides consultation to representatives of other agencies by providing regular reports as needed.
6. Participates in regular clinical supervision.
7. Maintains appropriate case notes and other records and prepares periodic reports as required.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

1. Develops and maintains knowledge of service standards and policies as stipulated by contract, licensing, and/or other governing bodies.
2. Continuously increases professional knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the art practices; participating in in-service programs.
3. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• No previous experience required.
• Doctoral degree in psychology required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

• Possesses a valid driver's license and state-required auto insurance.
• Required to travel extensively (> 50% of the time).
• Spanish / English bilingual preferred.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Maintains patient privacy, including protecting the confidentiality, safeguarding the integrity and availability, and limiting the use and disclosure of patient Protected Health Information (PHI) to authorized individuals and entities.
• Participates in, conducts, and sustains performance quality improvement activities according to designated role and responsibilities.
• Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Punctual and dependable attendance.
• Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
• Understands CII’s basic philosophy and participates fully in carrying out its mission.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Current Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) registration required.

COMPENSATION:

• The salary for this role is $65,000 per year.
• In accordance with CA law, the expected pay range for this CA position is posted with this position.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
