Overview

The Learning Architect designs and delivers experiences and resources to solve knowledge and skills gaps that support team members' personal and professional growth through the Berry Institute. This role works closely with internal and external content experts and team members to seek the best content to support the Berry Institute's goals and increase organizational learning and performance. This role uses defined curriculum design frameworks, multiple platforms, and industry best practices to validate, organize, package, promote, and deliver current and relevant content. Learning architects have an eye for visual design, a mind for content creation, and a commitment to clear, concise, and engaging forms of learning and communication.

If you and have any concerns about receiving these vaccines, medical and/or religious exemptions can be further discussed with Human Resources.

Responsibilities

The Learning Architect:

Creates innovative, human-centered learning experiences and resources to encourage team members to achieve their highest potential:

  •  Starts with the performance outcomes, not content.
  •  Partners with content experts and stakeholders within and outside the Berry Institute to create deliverables by understanding needs, brainstorming possibilities, and presenting concepts.
  •  Leverages problem-solving skills to analyze Berry Institute and organizational needs.
  •  Ensures content is accessible to participants.
  •  Pilots and audits courses to determine opportunities for updates and improvement.
  •  Focuses on relevant information to meet objectives and target audiences.
  •  Applies learning theories and current learning research.
  •  Communicates with impact to influence key content experts and stakeholders to advocate for human-centered deliverables.
  •  Thinks through the end-to-end user experience of a solution and ensures it is a quality experience.

Designs experiences and resources based on learning architecture:

  •  Provides a framework for designing experiences and resources aligned with the Berry Institute’s strategic goals.
  •  Partners with Learning Operations to conduct needs assessments, performance analyses, course content analyses, learner analyses, and job-task analyses to select the most appropriate instructional solution to a training-related problem.
  •  Creates targeted experiences and resources to enhance the skills and competencies required for success in various organizational roles.
  •  Ensures the instructional integrity of course development projects through systematic design and clear writing of scripts, narratives, and storyboards.
  •  Integrates effective and current learning technologies and tools into experiences and resources.
  •  Partners with Learning Operation to understand nursing, allied health, and medical continuing education credit requirements.
  •  Creates a culture of continuous learning by encouraging team members to take ownership of their development and growth by providing the necessary experiences and resources through the Berry Institute.

Assesses the effectiveness of learning experiences and resources:

  •  Partners with Learning Operations to analyze the effectiveness and outcome measures for experiences and resources.
  •  Uses outcome data to make recommendations to improve and/or identify future Berry Institute experiences and resources.
  •  Maintains ongoing knowledge of available instructional design tools and technologies and evaluates their benefits to the Berry Institute and organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Learning and Development, Instructional Design, Education or related field, and 5-7 years' experience.
  • Experience in the field of education, learning and development, or instructional design.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $32.26/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
