We are the Children's Museum of Atlanta, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and we are the only educational venue of its kind in Atlanta. Through community outreach initiatives, educational programs, and exhibits designed for children ages 0–8, the Museum strives to spark every child’s imagination, sense of discovery and learning through the power of play and we are hiring!

This is a part time, 30 hours/week, non-exempt, hourly position at a rate of $15/hour, that reports to the Assistant Director of Strategic Advancement.

Primary role


The Development Associate, under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Strategic Advancement, supports the advancement team’s fundraising efforts. They will perform administrative functions required to raise funds for and advance the mission of the Museum. These functions include, but are not limited to, managing annual fund and individual donor gifts, generating reports, special event work and support of the Museum’s Board of Directors. 


Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain individual and special event pledge and giving records into the Museum’s CRM 
  • Generate gift acknowledgements and fulfill recognition requirements 
  • Assist with presentations and meetings for volunteers and Board of Directors 
  • Assist with special events, including annual gala, golf tournament, and donor recognition events 
  • Maintain Board of Directors information and ensure up-to-date records are accessible to team; maintain Board of Directors data regarding meetings and ad hoc events as needed 
  • Maintains Advancement team expense budget, invoice tracking, submitting expenses and check requests as needed 
  • Maintain records for and assist with annual audit preparation. 
  • Generate weekly fundraising status reports for department

Strong Technical Skills: Knowledge of CRM systems, proficient in Microsoft office suite, ability to learn new software, experience with gift entry procedures and database management experience preferred
