Description

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION(S):

  1. Assists in the preparation, updating, maintenance of record-keeping for the department.
  2. Develops and maintains a variety of subject matter files and records, collects and compiles data and prepares reports, proposals, and other written materials upon request.
  3. Composes letters and memoranda related to ongoing administrative responsibilities and special assignments.
  4. Maintain communication with supervisor regarding ongoing task completion status and alerts them when timeline extension is needed.
  5. Handles administrative, financial and secretarial duties with judgment and accuracy.
  6. Uses technology for the completion of specified job duties.
  7. Attends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with Agency policy.
  8. Attends and participates in in-service training, staff meetings and other activities to facilitate professional development.
  9. Works cooperatively with others including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, individuals served, community professionals, customers, vendors and the public.
  10. Follows instructions and abides by Agency policies and procedures.
  11. Assumes other duties, responsibilities and special projects as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Must have a high school diploma. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is a plus. Two to three years of experience in progressively responsible administrative work preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Thorough knowledge of written and spoken English, basic math, modern office methods and equipment, including updated and current computer skills, word processing and data bases is required. Judgment, tact, and ability to meet the public. Thorough understanding of the Agency's organization and programs a plus.

NOTE: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted in lieu of the requirements specified above under Education and Experience.
