Job Summary and Qualifications
Seeking an experienced hospital Chaplain to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. In this role, you will support our staff and patients by providing chaplain services within the hospital. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join our Pastoral Care department and assist in providing a supportive environment for our patients and their families. - Your primary function will be to visit patients and families to offer counsel, pastoral support, comfort, rites and rituals, and worship on an interdenominational/interfaith basis.
- You will provide staff with pastoral support and counsel as needed.
- You must respond to “codes” and other requests for pastoral support in order to comfort patients and families after a code or request for presence.
- You will record and maintain all logs, reports and records as required by the Director of Pastoral Care.
What qualifications you will need:
- A minimum of one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at an ACPE accredited center required. Two units of CPE are preferred.
- A Master of Divinity (or equivalent) degree from an accredited theological seminary or university preferred.
- Previous experience working as a pastoral care giver in a health care setting is required.
- Previous experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
- Ordination or endorsement from a denomination or faith community for professional ministry is preferred.
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
