Job Summary:
The Hospitalist/Family Medicine Physician will provide outpatient and inpatient medical services in the Emergency Room Department and Inpatient Care Unit at Gallup, NM.
Tour of Duty: Tentative dates of service are July 2023 to September of 2023 with options to extend one to four years.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide professional medical services or direct patient care services.
- Provide coverage in the Urgent Care and Emergency Room Departments and make rounds in the inpatient wards.
- Time can vary according to the needs of the facility and/or clinic, e.g., 12-hours tour of duty, 10-hours tour of duty, 8-hour tour of duty, Including weekends and holidays.
- Interview and examine patients, review past medical history, and request and/or perform complex diagnostic tests and examinations deemed necessary to obtain all possible information related to each case.
- Make preliminary and comprehensive diagnosis, direct, prescribe or provide treatment, or arrange for specialized care or patient referral as required.
- Give total patient care including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up services to patients under his/her care.
- Make appropriate referrals and obtain appropriate consultations after primary complete evaluation and documentation has been completed.
- Make observations appropriate to the outpatient's underlying disease and treatment plan, including current symptoms.
- Provide emergency care and other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 12 months experience as a physician in specialty.
- Required: Competence and fellowship completion of 2-4 years in inpatient/outpatient internal medicine or family medicine, also in rheumatology, nephrology, dermatology, or other certified specialty.
- Required: Be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Practice.
- Required: Must provide at minimum three current letters of reference from other health care providers familiar with the contractor's clinical practice skills. One letter must be from the Chief of Staff/Medical Director or Immediate Supervisor at the hospital in which the contractor either holds or last held staff privileges. If the contractor has just completed a residency program, one of the letters shall be from the program director or service chief.
- Required: All providers shall possess a current, valid, unrestricted medical license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract.
- Required: Must possess a current, unrestricted DEA license.
- Required: Valid and current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Required: Must possess a valid state driver’s license throughout the term of this contract.

Physical Requirements:
- Work environment involves possible exposure to hazardous materials, such as chemical, blood and blood borne pathogens.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times and be able to bend, lift and pull.
- This position requires extended periods of being on your feet and prolonged work sitting at a desk operating a computer.
- At the time of hire, must provide a fitness for duty certificate issued by a licensed physician to perform the proposed job without significant risk to personal health or the health and safety of others.
- At the time of hire, must provide documentation of evidence of immunizations as required by the facility's immunization policy.

Pre-employment Requirements:

Drug and Alcohol Testing:
