Job Summary
The Pharmacy Buyer, acts as an official purchasing agent for the Pharmacy Department. Promotes the most effective use of the organization's funds in the acquisition of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies and assures pharmaceutical products are available when needed.Experience
- Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital or a pediatric hospital setting.
- Preferred: Experience in pediatric or pharmaceutical purchasing setting.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma/ GED or equivalent.
- Preferred: Associate Degree in Pharmacy Technology.
Training
- Required: Graduated from an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician Training program.
Specialized Skills
- Required: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills. Ability to understand and exceed customer expectations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Preferred: Previous experience with Lawson or other Purchasing/Supply Chain Computer Systems.

- Required: Pharmacy Tech
- Preferred: Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (CPhT).
