Purpose (Why does this job exist?)
The Commercial Loan Portfolio Specialist will support the primary relationship officer in ensuring a smooth overall underwriting and closing process and following up with client information request related to new and renewing loan accounts. They will assist with relationship management, proper loan documentation processes, business development strategies, CRM and loan renewals. The Commercial Loan Portfolio Specialist will be the liaison to all parties contributing to the loan transaction, including borrowers, the credit team, loan operations, and all outside parties.

Loan Officer
- Someone experienced, reliable and trusted who can take responsibility for:
o Loan documents
o Loan closings
o Loan renewals
o Proactive client and partner communication
o CRM database updates
o Ticklers for the portfolio
o Loan and deposit account setup

Thorough knowledge of legal documents used to support applicable loan processing
- Ability to work with legal to solve complex documentation needs
- Ability to apply critical thinking for all elements of loan documentation
- Thorough knowledge of closing policies and procedures, funding policies, underwriting requirements, terminology and automated processing systems
- Thorough knowledge of applicable credit policies and approval processes for assigned product(s)
- High level of comfort and self-assurance talking with clients in person and over the phone.
- Assist in coordinating the opening of deposit accounts prior to loan closing
Loan Operations, Credit Team and Deposit
- Respect and appreciation for respective department processes and timeframes

Serve as the primary point of contact for lender’s portfolio and communicate between all parities involve in a successful loan closing
- Be accessible and deliver knowledgeable, confident guidance and support leading up to the closing and afterwards.
- Prepare carefully for closings to avoid any eleventh-hour surprises.
- Listen to borrower feedback – what’s working, what’s not – and make recommendations for enhancements in service delivery
Experience
Preferred
- 2 - 4 years: Commercial Loan Processing in a bank setting
Education
Required
- Bachelors or better in Finance or related field
