What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operational Accountant position at Chord Energy?
- Prepare monthly close journal entries including lease operating expense accruals, capital accruals, and drilling, producing, and workover overhead charge-outs
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and roll-forwards on a timely basis
- Analyze results versus forecast and present variance explanations to management
- Establish and maintain operated authority for expenditures (AFE's) in Enertia accounting system
- Work closely with various groups including accounting, operations, production, and land
- Maintain SOX controls, policies and procedures related to specific job duties
- Assist with external audit, internal audit, and legal requests, as needed
- Three (3) years of oil & gas accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related degree
- Strong analytical skills and ability to create and/or improve processes
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Develop a relationship and communicate effectively with various areas of the organization
- Strong time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with Enertia accounting system
