Job Summary:
The Wellness Center Assistant is responsible for conducting the initial contact with new residents and leading group exercise classes. This person has constant interaction with residents, providing orientation and training, as well as individual assessments and program planning. The individual will also assist with the promotion and marketing of the programs to CCC residents, community members and teammates. Wellness Center Assistant reports to the Wellness Center Director.
Job Qualifications:
Education: Must be a high school graduate. Preferred, Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, recreational services, physical education or related field.
Experience:Experience working in a wellness center, or a gym. Computer knowledge preferred
Skills:Must be able to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions in English effectively.
Essential Functions:
Conducts the initial wellness assessment on clients of the facility and makes program recommendations based on results. “as needed”
Check in, and monitor safety of residents in the Wellness Center
Assist residents with equipment
Work on weekends to oversee the center
Maintain appropriate client records, complying with HIPAA regulations with regard to dissemination of client information.
Provide hospitality to all clients
Give tours of the Wellness Center
Provide education and training as requested by supervisor.
Provide instruction and teach classes. “as needed”
Maintain equipment according to specifications and infection control procedures.
Ensure all participants and visitors are in a safe and welcoming environment.
Other duties as assigned
Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth, and interest in residents’ activity preferences and needs.
