The pharmacy has been servicing more than 2100 residents in Assisted Living as well as Skilled Nursing Facilities in locations throughout a four-state region which includes Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Indiana. Senior Care provides same day delivery and overnight shipping to our Iowa and Missouri communities. The pharmacy is open 7 days a week and provides after-hours service as needed. Senior Care has approximately 35 employees.

OPPORTUNITY
We have a Part Time opportunity for a Pharmacy Biller to coordinate and assist in managing the provision of pharmacy billing services including: billing to appropriate payer sources, private pay statements and customer services inquiries. The biller is an important and integral part of the pharmacy team which provides exceptional care to our residents.

Responsibilities:
- Performs day to day operations within the billing department; implementing pharmacy revenue/collection objectives as directed by the Pharmacy Director.
- Contributes to Senior Care Pharmacy’s profitability by maximizing efficiencies and pursuing all viable opportunities for proper billing or pharmaceuticals.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with Billing Office personnel at communities serviced by Senior Care Pharmacy.
- Maintains communication with all departments within Senior Care Pharmacy and Christian Horizons home offices to insure proper billing procedures.
- Performs cash transactions for all payers.

Understands and be proficient in the use of all computer software related to billing: Frameworks, Docutrack, AccPac, PCC.
- In conjunction with Pharmacy Manager; maintain, review and update community pricing tables.

Participates in fiscal month end closing process.
- Assures that all financial reporting required by Christian Horizons is delivered accurately, balanced and timely.

Compliance with all local, State, and federal regulations regarding the billing of pharmaceuticals for long term care.
- Maintains a knowledge base of Medicaid, Medicare and all third party insurance plans used by Senior Care Pharmacy customers.
- Performs procedures for all prior authorization processing.

Carries out proper accounts receivable processes.
- Reviews all adjustments/resident refunds prior to sending to Pharmacy Manager.
- Reports aging to Pharmacy Director on time.

Organizes and maintains all records necessary.
- Respond to all customer requests for records promptly.
- One-year pharmacy billing experience required.
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Ability to follow written and oral directions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively and deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Pass background check before and during employment, as defined by Christian Horizons’ background check policy.
