The Role:
Under the supervision of the Weld Engineer, inspects and documents welded equipment, parts, and assemblies from receiving through the assembly process up to and including final inspection.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct various nondestructive inspections in the production process.
- Provide oversight and in-process inspection of the overall welding inspection processes.
- Perform positive material inspection analysis utilizing radiation-producing equipment.
- Coordinate audits and monitor contracted nondestructive evaluation/test processes and personnel.
- Execute radiographic film review to ASME Section III, IV, V, VIII, and IX requirements.
- Performs daily visual/process audits in manufacturing areas to ensure jobs receive required tests/inspections promptly.
- Perform necessary inspection procedures requiring special set-ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from various sources.
- Maintain welder continuity log and ensure compliance with ASME and DOD standards.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to develop quality and efficiency improvements.
- Conducts tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Create documentation of compliance with applicable ASME codes and regulations.
- At least one year of experience, with Certified Weld Inspector Certification required.
- PT Level II or III with required experience.
