Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist is a vital ambassador for the HR Department, providing comprehensive support to all facets of Human Resources. This role encompasses recruitment, employee relations, process improvement, performance management, workers' compensation, leave management, leadership development, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and counsel to hourly/salary employees, fostering a positive and fair workplace.
- Act as a liaison for employee concerns, addressing grievances and complaints.
- Lead recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt personnel through various channels.
- Conduct interviews for new plant associates and facilitate new hire orientations.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as [Your Client's Name] Safety and Quality practices.
- Serve as a benefits liaison between providers and employees.
- Assist with Worker's Compensation, COBRA, and FMLA processes.
- Maintain and audit employee files, ensuring confidentiality.
- Investigate employee complaints and contribute to conflict resolution.
- Uphold compliance with IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 standards.
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of EEO, Federal & State employment laws, Worker's Comp, STD, and LTD issues.
- Ability to coach, influence, facilitate, and problem-solve.
- Proactive with a results-oriented mindset.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated multitasking, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in a generalist capacity within Human Resources, with manufacturing and union experience.
