Responsibilities
- Form and execute strategies for positioning, buying and selling of grain
- Provide exceptional customer service by being the first point of contact with the consumer/user and in some cases utilizing divisional marketing resources
- Resolve issues and disputes with accounting, transportation, shippers and buyers/ end users
- Maintain existing customer base and identify, develop and build new opportunities
- Provide clear direction regarding department and functional goals
- Make decisions and work independently as well as collaborating with the broader team
- Develop the annual business plan, budget and forecast
- Develop the staff through the sharing of knowledge & ideas and providing clear direction of goals
- Execute the global soybean supply chain deck with precision
- Perform market analysis and formulation of corresponding commodity position strategy
- Work closely across CHS Ag platform with GTM, Operations and finance to exchange timely information in a transparent manner
- Monitor the macro-trends of financial markets and the global economy that can impact the respective commodity prices in the short, medium and long term
- Communicate bid changes and closing bids to customers
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
- Identify and capture global arbitrage opportunities
- Need to communicate effectively
- Travel to relevant origins and destinations
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 7 years of experience in Grain Merchandising, Trading, Procurement and/or Supply Chain
Additional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Ag Business, Ag Economics, or other business-related program
- Experience working with international teams
- Must be able to read and understand a daily position report (long & short)
- Working knowledge of NGFA contracts and futures exchange rules
- Experience managing a P&L
- Series III license
- Previous global experience
- Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin speaking skills a plus
