POSITION SUMMARY:
Works individually and in groups with Educators, Assistant Educators, and Home Visitor Specialists in a coaching and mentoring role. Will train and mentor staff to: understand the significance and usefulness of child and program assessment data; incorporate data into classroom lesson plans, instructional support and practices, and Individual School Readiness Plan (ISRP). Coaches participate in professional development activities, administer classroom assessments, i.e. ITERS, ECERS, and CLASS, and aggregate and analyze assessment data. Mentors meets with Supervisors to share assessment results, CLASS observation results, and recommend individual/group staff development and training needs. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides individual and/or group coaching to Educators, Assistant Educators and Home Visitor Specialists
- Provides training/technical assistance on program curriculum, assessment tools and data during coaching sessions and at all-staff professional development events
- Helps Educators & Home Visitor Specialists incorporate assessment data into instructional planning and practice
- Conducts classroom assessments, i.e. ITERS, ECERS, CLASS and review results together with staff and supervisors
- Assists with data collection, aggregation, analysis and reporting for overall program
- Advocates for the values of a diverse population within CHSW and the Community
- May provide language translation for clients

- While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- 3 years’ experience as a classroom educator/teacher or home visitor in Head Start or Early Head Start program, preferred.
- Experience and skill in adult education and/or building strong, positive relationships with adults (families, team members, etc.)
- Proof of CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification is required or obtained within 30 days of hire
- Proof of physical exam (updated every three years), including a one step Mantoux TB skin test prior to start of employment. For those who have previously tested positive, documented proof of treatment from a doctor or a negative chest x-ray must be provided
- Washington State Driver’s License
- HIV/AIDS and Blood borne pathogen training within 30 days of hire
- Successful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives consumers. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years
- Completion of CHSW and DCYF criminal history background check, including registry with MERIT to include fingerprinting

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this position is $25.9-$35.75. The starting salary range for this position is $25.9-$28.38 DOE for external candidates.
