To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com Job Description The Community Development intern will assist lenders with various responsibilities that relate to affordable housing and real estate finance. Responsibilities will include: Tracking loan covenant compliance Working with Relationship Managers to request due diligence from borrowers Reviewing property operating statements Reviewing property and borrower financial statements Calculating debt coverage ratios for properties Assisting with market analysis summaries Reviewing project diligence for specific information as requested by RMs Attending project and departmental meetings Research on affordable housing finance programs including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8, HOME, etc. Special projects as needed, for example client tracking database, assist in presentation preparation for regulators, etc. Qualifications: An interest in affordable housing and community development/ improvement Interest/ previous experience in commercial real estate Strong communications skills, both oral and written Strong analytical skills Understanding of basic financial accounting Able to work independently and on multiple projects at once/ time management To be eligible for this program, you must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis Pursuing a bachelors degree, with an expected graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024 CIBC’s Summer Internship program runs for 10 weeks beginning in June 2023 through August.
