To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com Job Description What you’ll be doing As a member of the Finance team you will partner in the creation and enhancement of current cost allocation methodologies and ensure that the related documentation meets the requirements of regulators and tax authorities. As an Accountant IV you will ensure that appropriate invoicing and payment of inter-company services occurs and are properly accounted for on a monthly basis. You will review inbound and outbound cost allocations to determine appropriateness of the charge in accordance with internal policies and procedures. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you’ll succeed Relationship building - On an annual basis, you will meet with relevant internal stakeholders across the organization to identify potential methodology updates. On a daily basis, you’ll monitor transactions with affiliates that fall under the scope of Section 23A of Regulation W to ensure proper collateral is posted and required limits are not exceeded. You will clearly communicate related transactions and balances with applicable members of Finance and Compliance. Leveraging technology – You will create and generate ADHOC reports and will be responsible for various analytical assessments of more complex transactional activities culminating in a determination of appropriate accounting entries. You will discover and document internal processes and procedures, controls, data flow, and reporting requirements Who you are You’re a certified professional. You are a CPA and experience in Public Accounting. You can demonstrate experience working knowledge of U.S GAAP and IFRS and a minimum of 7 years of experience in roles if increasing responsibilities. You have Financial Reporting experience with a strong understanding of consolidation accounting and reporting. You give meaning to data. You’re experienced with accounting systems and data conversions, integrations, and implementations. You're digitally savvy. You have technical experience with databases, the storage and movement of data, and the ability to understand how data is obtained and extracted for general ledger accounting and financial reporting and are proficient with Microsoft Excel, Visio, FIS/Hyperion.
