POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for processing vehicle titles for Custodian and 3rd Party release in addition to the support of custody business functions. The individual will gather, prepare and process daily releases of paid in full contracts, vehicle titles, custody requests, generates outbound correspondence in relation to titles, and calls on titles in transit. This person is responsible for the timely record keeping of titles pledged as collateral and processes titling documents and releases of vehicle titles upon payoff. Determines when and to whom titles should be released. This position is also responsible for the timely processing of imaging services, back up custody review, customer service requests as they relate to titles, performs mail room services, front desk coverage and other office administrative duties.
This position reports to the Vice President of QA & Document Custody. This position will work in close conjunction with the Custody Department, Dealer Administration and 3rd party Custodian. This position provides services to other departments, including Customer Service, Remarketing, Title Administration, Funding, Dealer Services and Accounting.
The successful candidate is self-directed in work prioritization, highly organized and detail-oriented, and demonstrates superior judgment-making ability within the scope of the position’s areas of responsibility. The associate will perform all duties in accordance with CIG Financial policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for the day-to-day vehicle title release process.- Prepares lien satisfactions and responds to requests from 3rd Party companies.
- Reviewing titling documents for completeness and accuracy ensuring proper title transfers.
- Works closely with other team members to ensure all aspects of title related tasks are completed.
- Perform various title clerk activities (sorting, scanning, preparing paperwork and status calls)
- Updates account files with detailed status notes and imaged records making sure they remain updated and title status is easily accessible.
- Using PC image scanners, scans various types of DMV records and documents.
- Sends out and requests time sensitive (electronic and paper) documents.
- Follows up on pending titles and title documents not received within an appropriate timeframe
- Assists Records Custodian in the custody review and exception clearing process as it relates to collateral
- Communicate to departments when collateral problems arise.
- Perform special projects or other related work as required or requested by VP of QA and Document Custody

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous work experience in an office setting preferred
- Prior knowledge of DMV documents or DMV verbiage is a plus.

- Web navigation and/or web-based applications.
- Personal computer: Imaging software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excel skills must be mid- level to advanced.
- 10-key calculator and QWERTY keyboard skills.
