What are the responsibilities and job description for the Provider Contracting Lead Analyst - Dallas, TX position at Cigna?

As a Provider Contracting Analyst, you’ll use your ability to develop strong working relationships and support the Provider Contracting team’s day-to-day activities. You’ll make a difference by using your problem-solving and negotiating skills, contract language, and financial acumen to achieve the best possible outcomes for those we serve.
What you’ll do:
Support strategic positioning for provider contracting, assist in the development of networks, and help identify opportunities for greater value-orientation.
Manage contracting and negotiations for fee-for-service with physicians, ancillaries, and hospitals.
Build and maintain relationships with providers and business staff that nurture provider partnerships to support the local market strategy.
Work closely with matrix partners, including but not limited to Claims Operations, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales and Marketing, and Service for network implementation and maintenance and be accountable for accurate and timely contract submissions.
Assist in resolving provider service complaints. Research problems and negotiate with internal/external partners/customers to resolve issues.
Support analytics required for the network solution.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; preferably in the areas of Finance, Economics, Healthcare, Business related or the equivalent in education and experience
3 or more years provider contracting or related experience
Understanding and experience in hospital, managed care, and provider business models
Contracting and negotiating experience working with providers and ancillary facilities
Experience developing and managing relationships and influencing audiences
Strong formal presentation and public speaking skills
Customer-centric and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word
Role requires 10% travel to provider offices. This role is a flex role and will also require two days per week in the Dallas office.
