What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Processor position at Cincinnati Federal?
The Mortgage Loan Processor collaborates with loan originators, borrowers, closers, third parties and underwriters. They ensure the collection of and provide quality review on mortgage loan documentation prior to submission to underwriting. They are responsible for proper loan pipeline management to ensure timely signing of documents and for meeting all regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communicates directly with borrowers to answer questions.
- Effectively processes loans in accordance with company policies and procedures including investor guidelines.
- Verifies, compiles, and inputs application information for mortgage loans.
- Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets standards, including type and amount of mortgage applied for including but not limited to borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment.
- Preliminarily evaluates the information provided by the borrower and makes recommendations if the loan does not meet the required standards.
- Calls or writes credit bureau and/or employer to verify accuracy of information.
- Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal.
- Informs supervisor of discrepancies in loan file.
- Submits mortgage loan application file for underwriting and works with underwriting to cure any issues.
- Submits approved mortgage loan file to closing.
- Updates various systems of record with critical loan information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Communicates directly with realtors and title companies to answer questions.
- Regular and punctual attendance
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years residential mortgage processing experience
- Initiative and the flexibility to work effectively under time constraints
- Ability to utilize industry related applications – Encompass preferred
- Ability to make sound judgements regarding the resolution of customer service issues
- Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative and knowing when to raise your hand for additional help
- Ability to handle detailed assignments and maintain confidentiality
- Must be educated on the services, procedures, and policies of the company and specific laws and applicable regulations related to mortgage lending
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout the Bank and to represent the Bank positively to the public, cultivating working relationships with current customers and Bank personnel
- Strong PC skills with experience and ability to productively use Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Processing loans for different investors and programs including VA, FHA, OHFA, Communities First, USDA, Conventional, Construction and HELOC’s/Bridge loans
