Position Summary:
Octagon is seeking an experienced professional with knowledge and contacts in Baseball. The primary responsibility of this position will be to recruit new clients, with a focus on the recruitment of professional baseball players.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Recruit new clients;
- Attend recruiting events to represent Octagon;
- Establish contacts within the baseball industry;
- Collaborate with Client Managers to sign new recruits;
- Travel as needed in the performance of job responsibilities;
- Other related duties as reasonably assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- College degree and a minimum of five years’ experience in the field of baseball;
- Existing contacts within the baseball community;
- Prior experience recruiting athletes;
- Knowledge of the baseball systems within the US;
- Strong sales and marketing skills;
- Strong negotiation skills;
- Strong computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word for Windows, Microsoft Excel, and internet proficiency preferred;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to use good business judgement and to make quick decisions in situations where discretion is required;
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, as required;
- Ability to travel as needed
