This position will report to the Specialty Arts Value Stream Manager
The Production Supervisor manages and schedules production operations within the Specialty Art value stream. The supervisor is responsible for tracking and improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost KPIs while maximizing department performance.
Work Schedule: MON-FRI 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
SUPERVISION & SAFETY:
- Provide daily goals and direction to production team to ensure shipments are meeting expected safety, quality, and production goals.
- Review safety concerns and reinforce safe work practices with all operators.
- Hold operators accountable to CG policies and to job standard work.
- Troubleshoot equipment condition and quality issues; notify appropriate personnel
- Maintain department 5S, KANBAN system, interface with supply chain / warehouse team for supplies.
SCHEDULING / PLANNING PRODUCTION:
- Develop and maintain production schedule based on customers’ needs, production capacity, and material inventory
- Assist production team to develop and maintain accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials)
- Collaborate with Supply Chain team to communicate material needs
- Schedule LTL and FTL shipments using a wide range of carriers
- Calculate load specs and work with production team to optimize pallet / trailer efficiency
- Generate and maintain documentation for sales orders and shipments
- Create BOLs, shipping labels, pack lists, etc
- Communicate updates with internal production and support teams, channel partners, and sales teams
- Create and document scheduling procedures to establish repeatable standards & processes
PERFORMANCE TO METRICS:
- Track cell and area productivity via performance boards
- Control labor costs to ensure unit cost targets are met
- Monitor product quality. Escalate issues to quality personnel as required.
- Monitor area supplies and KANBAN level of fill. Report pending outages asap.
- Requisition materials via department procedure from internal suppliers (WH or other department)
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT:
- Learn, Participate, and Lead Lean activities including Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events, Daily Gemba walks, and Job Relations growth
- Create Work Instructions, Training Documents, Visual Aids necessary to ensure best practice operation based on standard work and equipment manuals.
- Ensure good communication between shift operators to drive root cause analysis and reduce repeat process breakdowns.
- Work with SCM to address KANBAN shortages and supply outages by fixing root causes
EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT:
- Mentor Lead Operator with plans to improve Safety, Teamwork, Leadership, Crisis Management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure all operators are trained to safely perform job functions; maintain training matrix.
- Providing regular documented feedback to employees with respect to work performance, attendance, and teaming based on job expectations for each position
- Create succession plans to ensure business continuity
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- 2 years of supervising factory production operations
- 2 years of scheduling experience
- Intermediate level or above proficiency of MS Excel
- Analytical skills, Strong Organization and Planning skills
- Ability to pivot priorities seamlessly to meet customer needs
- Evidence of driving continuous improvement
- Strong communicative skills
- Understanding of safety practices and 5S
INTELLECTUAL DEMANDS:
- Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations.
- Must be approachable and responsive to a variety of people and issues.
- Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $54,000- $ 77K
