What are the responsibilities and job description for the Third Party Compliance Manager position at Circle?
What you’ll be responsible for:
As part of the Compliance Programs team, you will help to create a central global function focused on developing a best in class compliance management system, which will support all regional and core compliance team functions. This team is responsible for compliance risk management through a combination of development, assessment and oversight of key compliance programs throughout Circle.
Specifically, as a key second line of defense role, you will be responsible for managing compliance requests and explaining our compliance program to third parties. You will also conduct due diligence of those third parties on behalf of Circle to ensure that they have the appropriate compliance programs and systems in place based on the role they will perform for us. This position will work with the business and compliance/risk peers to ensure Circle’s business complies with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. You will provide third party oversight, identify key risks, and keep the broader compliance team informed of Circle’s partnership and third party initiatives.
What you'll work on:
- Assist in the development and implementation of global standards for third party compliance risk management.
- Develop centralized and standardized processes for inbound and outbound due diligence requests.
- Maintain presentation materials for explaining the overall compliance program to key partners and third parties.
- Support cross functional teams as they work to establish new partnerships and maintain strong relationships with current partners by explaining our compliance program and performing risk-based due diligence on prospective and current partners and third parties.
- Participate in projects and/or activities that ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Perform compliance focused risk assessments of key partners and third parties and work with other risk management partners in developing overall risk assessments for those third parties.
- Work with regional Heads of Compliance to perform reviews of affiliates/local country entities.
- Provide support and input for related audits or examinations from internal/external parties and collaborate with compliance program leads to ensure findings are appropriately remediated.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on regulatory changes and industry landscape.

What you’ll bring to Circle:
- 7 years relevant experience in compliance, third party risk management or related discipline
- Detailed knowledge and experience related to assessing third party risk
- Compliance experience in either banking, consulting, or cryptocurrency required. Experience in a RegTech or Fintech company is preferred.
- Strong communication, planning and project management skills
- Establishes trust and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and team members.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent ability to investigate, analyze, and interpret data
- Demonstrated understanding of and passion for harnessing the power of digital currency and blockchain technology and services built on top of it.
- Experience working hands-on with other cross-functional team leaders, such as lawyers, engineers, product managers, data analysts, operations analysts in improving compliance processes and systems.
- Experience and comfort working in an ever-changing industry and the flexibility to quickly react to changing demands.
- Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.
