POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
CIRCOR Naval Solutions Inc. (the “Warren BU”) is searching for a Finance Manager to join its Warren team with a primary focus on accounting, internal controls financial planning & analysis, and business partner support to Manufacturing/Operations. This role will provide and oversee the accurate and timely financial reporting, coordinate the month-end close process with Financial Shared Services and work closely with Site Director of Finance to develop and prepare financial forecasts. The position will also lead the activities to support internal and external audits as well as perform reviews and reconciliations required for Sarbanes- Oxley control requirements. The position will support department managers with budget-to -actual and detailed transaction reporting and will troubleshoot and resolve problems that affect the accuracy of the financial statements.
Key areas include: Cost Accounting, variance analysis, compilation of financial information for journal entries and account reconciliations, participates in initiatives to increase the efficiency of the department and assistance in completion of special projects.
Principal Activities
- Analyze month-end, month to date financial and statistical data to understand the drivers for variances from budget/forecast/prior year and develop improvement plans with operations.
- Lead the month-end financial close responsibilities for the department including accurate preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX control evidence, etc.
- Maintain procedures and controls to ensure the control environment and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Work closely with the site Director of Finance to support business unit weekly reporting requirements such as financial performance updates, operational key metrics and other KPI’s
- Support the preparation of the annual operating budget and monthly forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflows). Oversee the budget accountability process with budget owners.
- Act as the subject matter expect on the internal workings of Revenue Recognition (ASC 606 Percentage of Completion). Includes preparing month end adjustments, maintaining inputs, and forecasting analysis related to timing of Revenue Recognition.
- Cashflow: Analyze cash flow forecast for receivables and payables, coordinate forecast and actual reporting against forecast with Financial Shared Services.
- Prepare the site build-up of rates required for government contract submissions
- Serves as a business partner with operations to ensure continuous improvement via execution to plan for direct material productivity, labor productivity, and working capital productivity (inventory and accounts payable).
- Support, and at times lead, continuous improvement initiatives in the business for Operations and Finance.
- Liaise with segment/corporate accounting, internal and external auditors as required.
- Ensure maintenance of accurate and complete financial records in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, GAAP, and CIRCOR Accounting Policies and Procedures.

Education, Experience & Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. MBA a plus
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing environment, preferably including cost accounting or financial analysis in a public company setting.
- Prior management experience leading a small team preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of financial performance drivers, accounting principles, procedures and systems with a solid understanding of internal controls.
- Capable of researching, retrieving, organizing, and summarizing data sets needed for financial reporting and various ad-hoc analysis.
- Desire to lead and hold him/ herself accountable.
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various business partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience with ERP and financial systems, IFS and BPC are a plus.
- Understanding/ prior experience in applying accounting and finance concepts and principles in a US DoD manufacturing environment (CAS, DFARS, FAR, TINA, etc.) is a plus.
- CPA or CMA desired.
